Lexi’s Weekend Recap: 6 Months into 2025

June 30th 2025

Six months into 2025. Can you believe it?

Summer is one of my favorite seasons. The stone fruit is ripe, the green beans and snap peas are bountiful, and the sun in San Francisco is just how I like it: mild.

This past weekend, I spent time doing things I LOVE. I kicked Friday off by spending time in my local community garden. What a little slice of heaven it is. Teaming with fresh flowers and herbs (the latter of which I got to bring home), it was easy to spend time toiling away plucking weeds and listening to bees buzz. After gardening—and a productive work day—it was time to get ready. In San Francisco, many people DJ. Among my group of friends, we have four excellent DJs! Friday night, they quite literally put on a show. Donning some silky black pants and one of Francis’s button downs, I was ready to hit the dance floor.

As the saying goes, all play and no work makes Lexi fall behind on her responsibilities. So Saturday was spent researching, reading, and writing. Pretty exciting stuff, if you ask me!

Prioritizing my work tasks meant Sunday was ripe for adventure. In the morning, my friend and I went to the neighborhood farmers market in search of—you guessed it—stone fruits and snap peas. To our good fortune, we found both! On our walk home, we stopped by a local grocer to buy a few ingredients I needed for a new recipe (don’t worry, I’ll be sharing it). The grocer had beautiful sunflowers which just so happen to be Bob’s favorite flower. Of course I had to get her a bouquet to drop off on our way home.

Once back at my apartment, I began pulling together a recipe that has been in my brain’s R&D department. As I will share later, the recipe is perfect for a summer dinner! It seems just complicated enough to impress, but not actually enough to make you lose your mind (promise).

With that, the weekend bustle was done. No more deadlines to meet, no more events to dress up for, no more dishes to wash (tysm, Francis).

Six months in and I can’t wait to see what the last six have in store! Oh, and because you asked, Spring is no. 1.
